The new list of scientific journals

The new list of scientific journals

The Minister of Science announced (January 5, 2024) a new list of scientific journals and peer-reviewed materials from international conferences.

The new list of scientific journals was prepared based on a project developed by the Science Evaluation Committee (KEN) on June 29, 2023. Consequently, changes regarding scientific journals that were not proposed by KEN in the resolution but were added by the Minister of Education and Science in 2023 were removed.

The primary goal of publishing the new list in early 2024 is to ensure that the change does not have negative consequences for scientists who published articles in 2023 in journals listed by the Minister of Education and Science in 2023. It is also crucial to end manual modifications of the list's content and base it on expert positions.

To capture the current bibliographic indicators of scientific journals, which have changed since 2019, the Minister of Science decided to prepare a new list from scratch in 2024. A team of experts from the scientific community representing various disciplines will develop it. The appointed teams will assess journals based on selected impact indicators. Subsequently, KEN, relying on the lists of scientific journals and peer-reviewed materials from international conferences provided by the teams, along with assigned point values, will draft the project for the new list of journals.
