The English version of the publication which appeared in 2002 by Adam Mickiewicz University. Works included in the volume are an attempt at an answer to the question of mutual influence of the culture of power and the power of culture, and also to what an extent culture may be a permanent foundation of identity and independent statehood? In the context of the conflict in Macedonia, these problems are considered by hostorians, lawyers, demographers, folklorists and Slavists from Poland, Macedonia and other countries.
