Książka jest czwartym tomem publikacji poświęconej doktorom honoris causa Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu. W latach 2001−2019 ten zaszczytny tytuł otrzymało dwadzieścia dziewięć osób z Polski i zagranicy. W publikacji zaprezentowano ich sylwetki w układzie chronologicznym. W każdym przypadku przedstawiono kalendarium procesu przyznawania tytułu (wniosek Rady Wydziału, uchwałę Senatu, uroczystość promocji). Swoją wartość zachowują teksty przemówień przedstawicieli władz Uniwersytetu, promotorów, bądź samych doktorów honorowych, wygłoszonych przy okazji wręczenia dyplomu. Całość uzupełnia materiał ikonograficzny oraz autografy uhonorowanych osób.

The book is the fourth volume of the publication devoted to honorary doctorates of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Twenty-nine people from Poland and abroad received an honorary doctorate between 2001 and 2019. The publication presents their profiles in chronological order. In each case, a schedule of the title-granting process is presented (motion of the Faculty Council, resolution of the Senate, promotion ceremony). The texts of speeches by representatives of the University authorities, thesis supervisors, or the honorary doctors themselves, delivered on the occasion of the diploma presentation, retain their value. The work is complemented by iconographic material and autographs of the honoured persons.
