Tom przygotowany z okazji 25-lecia Wydziału Neofilologii UAM, jednej z największych tego typu jednostek w kraju skupiającej liczne grono badaczy nauk humanistycznych z zakresu literaturoznawstwa i językoznawstwa. W publikacji podjęto wiele nowych i ważkich tematów, co daje możliwość zapoznania się z najnowszymi tendencjami w badaniach filologiczno-językowych na światowym poziomie. Język jako taki i literaturę, poszczególne języki narodowe i etniczne oraz literatury narodowe włączono do szerokiego tła kulturowego i zdefiniowano jako ogromne bogactwo ludzkości, a refleksje te wzbogacone są o aspekt pragmatyczny związany z aplikatywnością w kontekście dydaktyki języków czy tłumaczenia.

The present collection of articles has been prepared on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the Faculty of Modem Languages and Literature, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, Poland. The publication brings together an impressive array of 56 contributions made both in linguistics, literary and culture studies in which scholars affiliated with the Faculty of Modem Languages and Literature explore and synthesize the varying perspectives and approaches within the above mentioned fields of research. In this publication, the fields of language, literary and culture studies have been shown to have reached the status of an interdiscipline in which the various pathways pursued within the respective fields have begun to coalesce. It is our hope that the publication will be useful for researchers and students interested in the most recent developments expressed by the approaches and contexts represented so amply in this polyphonous endeavour.
