The book presents the problems of traffic noise generation and propagation. A simple engineering traffic noise propagation model is proposed. This model takes into account: geometrical spreading, the ground effect, air attenuation and scattering by turbulence. The main purpose of this book is to describe a method for determining the effective sound power level of moving vehicles, based on A-weighted short-term average sound level measurements. The book also analyzes the influence of traffic jams and the road surface temperature on traffic noise.
