This post-doctoral thesis is a monograph on Klyuev's life and his artistic works. Nikolai Alekseevich Klyuev (1884-1937) belongs to those Russian poets, who have recently started to be noticed again. There have been attempts to restore his artistic works to a reader, as well as the author's appropriate place in the history of Russian literature. The aim of the thesis is an attempt to decode and study the hidden meanings of the writer's poetry, which is possible only through following his religious, spiritual and artistic evolution that helps establish the poet's place in Russian culture. Klyuev's literary path is a combination of analysed works and personal experience of his and it can be divided into four periods. The thesis should attract the attention of every person who is interested in Russian literature.
