Analiza problemu uniwersyteckiego kształcenia nauczycieli polonistów, przeprowadzona na dwu uzupełniających się płaszczyznach: strategii działania osób i zespołów wyspecjalizowanych w dziedzinie praktyki i teorii szkolnego nauczania przedmiotu oraz przestrzeni współczesnej kultury i procesów transformacji szkoły. Autorka prezentuje nowatorskie ujęcie problemu, akcentując podmiotowość procesu studiowania oraz jego humanistyczna wielostronność. Rozwija i uzasadnia przekonanie, że do zrozumienia metod nauczania przedmiotu należy dochodzić na drodze obserwacji i analizy różnych aspektów procesu dydaktycznego.

Thanks to the subjective perspective on the process of professional training of the teachers of Polish as well as due to rejection of acting based on providing solely general norms and postulates the book is apparently "a break with the tradition" of writing on methodology. According to the project presented in the work the candidates for the teacher profession are in the habit of not only applying ready-made teaching procedures but also thinking in terms of science. The observations focused on the concrete educational cases make it possible to explore the personal experiences of students and consolidate various kinds of knowledge. The process of constituting the professional posited in the book relates to the essence of the studies in other fields and the image of school is deeply rooted in the contemporary culture.
