W monografii autorka rozważa ideę przestrzenno-metaforycznego zaułka, gdyż jego figuratywna wartość nadzwyczaj dobrze wpisuje się w szereg znaczących konceptów czy raczej quasi-konceptów, które wydają się błądzić w gąszczu problemów i tematów, wymykając się przy tym trudom przedstawieniowym i zachowując pożądaną płynność pojęciową. Szereg ów tworzą takie oryginalne pomysły, jak wnienachodimost’, niewspółobecność Michaiła Bachtina, herezja Jana Patočki, sobość i inność Emmanuela Lévinasa, différance Jacques’a Derridy bądź motylkowatość pisania Rolanda Barthesa, by poprzestać na tych kilku przykładach. Ich pełna eksplikacja nie jest możliwa, co tłumaczy, przynajmniej do pewnego stopnia, decyzję, aby powiązać dyskursywny zaułek z epitetem ‘mistyczny’, którego nieadekwatność wyraża kursywa (zachowana w oryginalnym tekście). Tym, co łączy wspomniane koncepty z doświadczeniem mistycznym, jest idea niewyrażalnego: wspólna im wszystkim idea ta stanowi wyzwanie, przed którym stają wszystkie idiomy, badane w niniejszej książce, jako że niestrudzenie usiłują konstruować swoje osobliwie ‘niemożliwe’ słowniki. Kursywa (zachowana w oryginalnym tekście), która tym razem towarzyszy słowu ‘niemożliwy’, jest wynikiem energii niesionej przez tę kontradykcję: pod groźbą samowymazania (filozoficzna zasada ‘Aufhebung’ przeradza się w strategię pisania ‘sus rupture’) słowniki te są jednak z werwą tworzone, czego dowodzą wszystkie teksty w monografii tej analizowane.

In the monograph, I take into consideration a concept of spatial-metaphorical recess, since its figurative value  allows me to adopt it for a group of distinctive works which themselves seem to meander in the mass of problems and themes, sneaking out a definition or representation in order to remain not definitive and undefined ones; to them undoubtedly belong such concepts (or rather quasi-concepts), as vnienachodimost’, outsideness (Mikhail Bakhtin), heresy (Jan Patočka), selfness and otherness (Emmanuel Levinas) différance (Jacques Derrida), or the butterfly style of writing (Roland Barthes), to name just a few examples. Their full explication is impossible, which justifies, at least to some degree, the decision to associate the discursive recesses with the epithet ‘mystical’, inaccuracy or inadequacy of which is expressed by the italics (in the original version of the text). What links the aforementioned concepts with the mystical experience is the idea of the inexpressible: common to all of them is, the very idea that presents a considerable challenge to the idioms, examined in this book, idioms which in various ways attempt to construct their peculiar ‘impossible’ glossaries. The italics (in the original version of the text), which this time accompany the word ‘impossible’ – are the precise result of the energy carried by this contradiction: under threat of the self-effacing (the philosophical strategy of ‘Aufhebung’ transforms itself into a process of ‘sus rupture/under erasure’), these glossaries are still being written, which is proved by all the texts analysed in this monograph.
