This monograph is devoted to the problem of formation of the official language of Muscovite Russia as an important source in the process of formation of the Russian national literary language. The book contains a complex analysis of various linguistic relics of the official writings of the 15th-17th centuries: grants and investitures, debenture notes, supplications. Special attention was paid to the form of documents (its structure and arrangement of the text) as well as linguistic analysis of the text, allowing to reconstruct the lexical composition of the source. Important place is given to data on the then historians dealing with the history of diplomatics and commentaries of the legal-historical character.
