Autor prezentuje metodologiczne spojrzenie na matematykę. W jej rozwoju wyróżnia trzy zasadnicze okresy: pierwszy, trwający do końca V w. p.n.e. (rozdz. 1: Paradygmaty Euklidesa); drugi - od początku IV w. p.n.e. do końca XIX w. (rozdz. 2: Ku nowemu paradygmatowi) i trzeci okres współczesny (rozdz. 3: Paradygmat logiczno - teoriomnogościowy). Pracę zamykają rozważania o potędze i słabościach matematyki.

The author presents a methodological view of mathematics. Three main periods in the development of this field are distinguished: the first one - till the end of the 5th century B.C. (Chapter 1: Euclidean paradigms); the second - from the beginning of the 4th century B.C. till the end of the 19th century \(Chapter 2: Towards a new paradigm) and the third period - the modern one (Chapter 3: The the logical-set theory paradigm ). The conclusion of the work are considerations of the power and weaknesses of mathematics.
