Autor zebrał ciekawe materiały archiwalne, w pełni je wykorzystał i stworzył publikację nie tylko prezentującą działalność Wojewódzkiego Urzędu Kontroli Prasy, Publikacji i Widowisk w Poznaniu w latach 1946–1955, ale również zawierającą cenny materiał źródłowy, a to z kolei powoduje, iż może ona trafić do szerokiego kręgu odbiorców.

In the book the author made an attempt to describe and explain some aspects of preventive censorship on the example of the Voievodeship Office of Control of the Press, Publications and Public Performances in in Poznań. The control of non-periodical printed materials by this institution in the years 1946-1955 was taken into consideration. Reconstruction of the processes described in the book was based on the previously seldom used materials, which were produced mainly by the censor's office in Poznań. At present their main part can be found in the State Archive in Poznań (Collections of the Voievodship Office of Control of the Press, Publications and Public Performances).
The analyses performed focus on four types of non-periodical publications: scientific books, professional literature, textbooks and literature.
