Bibliografia dotyczy prac w zakresie akwizycji języka pierwszego. Obejmuje głównie piśmiennictwo w języku angielskim i jest pierwszą tego typu bibliografią w Polsce. Skierowana jest do osób interesujących się szeroko pojętą psycholingwistyką, w szczególności zaś akwizycją języka pierwszego.

Studies on first language acquisition constitute a major part of psycholinguistics as an autonomous discipline. They have abounded in psycholinguistic research during the clynamic development of XXth century linguistics. It has therefore become a necessity to make an attempt towards a compilation of a more or less comprehensive bibliography of writings on the acquisition of first language. In this way it has become possible to show the interdisciplinary richness of the discipline. Since first language acquisition research has been feeding on such related disciplines as general psychology, developmental psychology, general learning theory, neuropsychology, neurobiology, developmental biology, cognitive science, cognitive linguistics, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, pragmalinguistics, sociolinguistics, theory of communication, artificial intelligence, studies on the evolution of human language, they have all been included in the present Bibliography. It is addressed to all those interested in things psycholinguistic who wish to gain access to this affluent and vividly developing area of linguistic investigations.
