Publikacja uzupełnia mapę toponimiczną nazw terenowych Polski. Autor poddał wszechstronnej analizie językoznawczej ok. 2000 nazw terenowych - w tym nazw części wsi, ulic, stawów, strumieni i cieków, pól, lasów, łąk, wzgórz, dolin, cmentarzy itp. - które zebrał osobiście w latach 1996-1997, wędrując od miasta do miasta i od gminy do gminy. Są to nazwy stosunkowo młode, niepotwierdzone w źródłach historycznych. Opracowanie to zainteresuje nie tylko językoznawców, ale i miłośników folkloru, krajoznawstwa, a także ośrodki administracji terenowej.

This book discusses place names (names of physiographic objects - land and water ones) in the area of Trzemeszno, Orchowo Strzelno, Kruszwica, Jeziora Wielkie, Skulsk and Wierzbinek communes. Readers will find a complete description of features and functioning of the microtoponymic system (1749 names were collected and discussed). Specificity of microtoponymy from the point of view of methodology was defined (here the author presents his own approach to the question of research methods of toponymy). In the work attention is also paid to the fact Chat in the names are reflected topographic properties of the terrain, social and economic relations the farming culture and spiritual culture of the people living in these areas.
