Propozycja nowego modelowego podejścia do badań osadów i form glacjalnych, którego podstawowym elementem jest analiza efektywności depozycyjnej lądolodu. Na podstawie badań form i osadów glacjalnych, w środkowej części Niziny Wielkopolskiej, w zasięgu ostatniego zlodowacenia, przedstawiono modele wariantowego kształtowania rzeźby subglacjalnej (transgresja) i supraglacjalnej (recesja). Uszeregowano formy glacjalne od najdłużej do najkrócej formowanych. W części syntetycznej zrekonstruowano miąższość lądolodu vistuliańskiego na Nizinie Wielkopolskiej w fazie maksymalnego zasięgu i na tej podstawie oszacowano niektóre parametry klimatyczne.

The author presents a regional sedimentation model of the vistulian ice sheet, based on input data collected from direct, field geological observations. The analysis of glacial forms and deposits has been supplemented with quantitative investigations. The aim of the latter was to define depositional effec-tiveness of the ice sheet during its transgression, stabilization and recession. Paleoglaciological inter-pretation uses elements of the movement theory of ice streams and the shape of their surface, stemming from glaciological models of present-day and Pleistocene ice sheets. The main aim of the dissertation, which justifies the need to develop a regional model of the ice sheet, is an attempt to incorporate glacial events, which occurred in the area of Wielkopolska, into a general model of transformations of the European natural environment, triggered by expansion and later by_ a varying rate with which the Scandinavian ice sheet was disappearing.
