Publikacja nawiązuje do dyskusji nad etnogenezą Słowian. Opierając się na wynikach analizy diachronicznej, autorka opowiada się za modelem przemian systemu społeczno-kulturowego prezentowanym przez koncepcję umiejscawiającą kolebkę Słowian w dorzeczu Odry i Wisły na przełomie er.

Ethnogenesis of the Slavs is an issue extensively discussed in the literature of the subject, due to the significance of this population group for the history of Europe. In archeology the disputes on the ethnogenesis of the Slavs have been carried on for many years. The existing differences of opinions may be summed up in two hypotheses: autochthonous and allochthonous one. Archeology alone is not capable of answering the questions posed by itself on the ethnic belonging of separated cultures and cultural groups. A great deal of answers may be given by anthropology with its specific methodology and possibility of choosing a set of traits universal for a broad spectrum of time and space. This paper presentation the conclusions of our research. The results of our research support the model in which the cradle of the Slavs is located in the Oder and Vistula rivers basin at the turn of the eras - autochthonus hypothesis.
