The poem, which consists of over three thousand hexametric verses and is dedicated to Emperor Mark Aurelius, is still dazzling with its different moods, sophisticated erudition and elegance of poetic phrase. The epic poem measure of the original was rendered in Polish translation by traditional thirteen-vocabulary (with an identical number of verses).
