The desire for a book fair

The desire for a book fair

-The industry, despite the coronavirus pandemic, is pushing for the Frankfurt Book Fair -  said President Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels (Association of German Booksellers) Karin Schmidt-Friderichs.

- This is why the desire for the fair is so strong, because many similar events have been cancelled due to the coroner's crisis - noted Karin Schmidt-Friderichs  - There was no Leipzig Book Fair, no Cologne literary festival, no Berlin Literature Festival and no book fair in London or Bologna. Almost all platforms for the presentation of new books have been lost -  she explained.

The decision as to whether the world's largest book fair will take place between the 14th and 18th of October is due at the end of May.

Last year the fair was visited by 7450 exhibitors from 104 countries. It was attended by 302,267 visitors.
