The present work describes verbal prefixes enclosed in the most voluminous monument of Polish apocryphal writing from the medieval period, Rozmyślanie przemyskie. The analyses aim at presenting functions of particular prefixes realized in the text and the ways how the prefixes may be used for constructing definite situations. Since the attempts are made to determine the present function of the prefix in the text, we concentrate only on these syntactic constructions to which the formative introduces certain semantic values of relational or categorial nature. Functions of particular formatives are determined in syntactic constructions constituted by a given derivative. The analyses aim also at pointing to reciprocal relations between the prefix and the preposition in a nominal group denoting an object with a semantic function of a landmark.
