W II poł. XIX wieku nastąpiło odrodzenie poezji świata arabskiego w nowej współczesnej formie. A. Abbas analizuje prawie sto lat rozwoju tej poezji, wyróżniając w tym procesie dwie podstawowe tendencje: neoklasyczną i romantyczną. Szczególnie cenna jest baza materiałowa - autor wykorzystuje ponad dwieście oryginalnych pozycji, głównie arabskich, a także znakomitą większość opracowań europejskich. In the second half of the 19th century a rebirth of poetry in a new form of the Arabic world took place. A, Abbas analyses almost a hundred years of the development of this poetry and distinguishes two main tendencies in this process: a neoclassical and a romantic.
