Tom IV bibliografii przekładów z literatury niemieckiej najnowszej dekady (lata 1991-2000) stanowi ważną pomoc dydaktyczną dla wielu kierunków humanistycznych szkół wyższych, ze szczególnym wskazaniem filologii germańskiej i polskiej.

Volume IV of the Bibliography of Translations from German literature into Polish is a part of multtivolume work covering the periods of the reception of German literature in Poland, (Vol. I - the years from 1800 to 1918, vol. II - from 1919 to 1939 and vol. Ill - from 1945 to 1990, vol. IV from 1991 to 2000). The bibliography has been written mainly on the basis of the "Official Register of Publications" (Urzędowy Wykaz Druków), "Bibliographic Guide" ("Przewodnik Bibliograficzny") and "Polish Bibliography" ("Bibliografia Polska") by Karol Estreicher, as well as the following German bibliographies to translations ("Bibliographic der Übersetzungen" - "Bibliography of Translations" and "Bibliographic deutscher Literatur in polnischer Übersetzung vom 16Jh. bis 1994" von Jacek St. Buras, "Bibliography of German Literature in Polish Translation from the 16th century to 1994" by Jacek St. Buras). The first part of the Bibliography comprises the translations of belles-lettres which were published in book-forms whereas the second part gives Polish and German anthologies, collective writings and selected works. The Bibliography is supplemented with an index of translators and a list of publishing houses. The bibliographic record is preceded by an essay on the reception of German literature in Poland. The Bibliography is intended for literature specialists, theatrologists, critics, experts in culture, musicologists and research workers studying the reception of German literature in Poland.
