The book deals with the fundamental category of a place. The author points out that contemporary considerations on the essence of place go beyond the human-oriented approach. Geographers take up the themes of the place agency, the self of the place, and the dialogue between human and place. By developing this narrative and using the relational approach's assumptions, the author develops a conversational approach to a place. The book proposes a theoretical framework and shows case studies in the author's interpretation of the dialogue with the place. These considerations are preceded by a discussion of the basic scientific paradigms that make up the assumptions of the conversational narrative of the essence of a place and a presentation of selected, existed views towards the place concept.
