Arkadiusz Bednarczuk, Karol Walczak (red.), "Kultura i społeczeństwo w czasie pandemii"
The pandemic has updated issues we thought were a thing of the past. It showed the fragility of our existence and the illusion of security that technology provides. It is likely that a number of processes that take place during the pandemic will have a significant impact on our future. The domination of the pandemic discourse by medical Sciences, which is understandable in the light of the threats to health and life it, creates the impression that the humanities are helpless. We try to deny this with this book; the work consists of texts that from the position of the humanities present and interpret examples of cultural responses to the covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, it is not a work about the virus and disease it causes, but rather a collection of accounts his culture understood as a tool for getting used to what is new, different and often (as in this case) terrifying.
